Bed sheet curtains, yes they are.

another insider secret: Using fabric shower curtains as regular curtains. Costs about 50% less than regular curtains and there's no problem with them being too long. I have 2 rooms done that way and no one has any idea they're not traditional curtains unless I point it out.
I actually did look at the shower curtains in what was once known as MacFrugal's. I don't know what they call it now, Dollar something... I am still trying to decide if I like these, if not, I will go back and look again at the shower curtains, they were like 6$ each and some were really nice.

I also got a dust ruffle at Mervyns, queen size - 13 bucks! It matches my new sheets, I like sand colored stuff because everything goes with it and now I can get a really outrageous duvet cover for my quilt and the dust ruffle will match!
My curtains in my downstairs bathroom are kitchen towels on those hook clip things. They looked cute when they were new buy not they look warn. I guess it's time to replace them.
that's kind of been my philosophy about painting my bedroom (after the walls are redone) - a nice rich sand color for the walls. then swap out curtains & linens and repaint the crown molding any time I want to change the theme. though, lord knows, even that little effort is probably more than I could bother with.

Yeah to Jamie for the towel idea. I need curtains for my kitchen (to block the peeping tom). was planning to use silk table runners from Chinatown but, once again, didn't make it that far. I have a beach towel up there now. Since they're short windows, maybe I can find some nice hand towels instead.
[this is good]
These are cool. And, btw, you can never have too many shortbread biscuits.

When I was little (12 maybe?) - I decided one day to help mom out by taking down all the curtains on the back porch and washing them. They'd been there forever and they look so old and dirty. Forever is a key word here. I took them all down and put them in the washer and in about an hour I took out the biggest pile of shredded (dry rotted) material. I don't think we put curtains back up... ever now that I think about it. Maybe we did, but I don't recall them so much. I think I was blocking them from my memory.
I've been meaning to make a round for you guys even though Jamie keeps saying she wouldn't eat any.

Heh to the curtains. I have a sheer set that goes behind my regular ones and I washed them yesterday and one came out all in tatters.
I have used king size pillow cases for small window curtains - just cut at the seam, slide the ros through the "hem" part and Viola.
I've used placemats and clothes pins.
and finally I have hung both sets twice, yes twice. I don't like either. The green looks like bed sheets, shiny or not, there's no way around it.

The ivy is cool, but too busy and the novelty wears off right quick.
Nathan and I would - so feel free. Oh, and thanks for the cool airplane mobile thing - that was really awesome. (I know Jamie thanked you, but still)
It was my pleasure. I like you guys very much.

And I'll see what I can do about sending out some shortbread, but it rarely makes it off the pan into the container before I eat it all up.
haha I bought golf towels on sale at Land's end or LL bean and I use them as kitchen towels. They have grommets and hooks so they clip nicely onto my drawers handles.
I think this'd be a good post idea: What things have you used to decorate that are "unusual"?
