WOW, Grumblette!

Going on my final Vox rounds for the evening (morning) I was just about to close out when I spied these pretties. I had to take a closer look.

I don't like blatant colors - these are so subtle and lovely!

Wow, these are beautiful, grumbles!

beautiful artwork!
I actually was thinking of Aubrey as I posted these. No kidding. I was inspired by these Japanese postcards I found as I was stumbleuponing last night, and I thought - these are not my style, I prefer Mucha, but I wonder if Aubrey might like those!

Thank you ZK & LM! Yay! for comments! I thought abut writing some background on Mucha, but I get the feeling his art speaks for itself.
Third postcard from the top, dated 1932...that black coat...how fine is that??
Yes, and I am especially fond of the second dress from the bottom of the page.
I love Mucha, these are lovely. It was a great disappointment to me that the Mucha Museum was closed when I was in Prague a number of years ago. Here is some of his lesser known work.
I bow to you MJJJ. Fantastic link. I have always liked the Slav Epic.

And you've been to Prague! Did you visit any churches by chance?

I recently tried to post something about Prague. Twice and I ended up with two posts that didn't even mention my intended topic. Makes me wonder...

These are just beautiful

I love these pictures.
I was only in Prague for a few days, but yes, I did visit some churches - St Vitus, and the wonderful St Thomas, with its beautiful ceiling and the human remains on view in the side altars. Also, I grew up as a Catholic and my mother used to keep a statue of the Infant of Prague - sort of a Jesus dress-up doll that had various ceremonial outfits to suit the holidays, heh. So of course I had to go to the Infant of Prague church to get my mom some holy kitsch. One of the best places to visit was the exquisite Vyšehrad cemetery - Mucha is buried there, although I didn't know that at the time - it's filled with artists and composers . Thanks for asking, it set me to browsing and finding some sites that triggered nice memories. I would recommend Prague!
OH MY GAWD! That is exactly where I was going with that question! The Infant of Prague statue! Years ago I had a roommate... never mind, I will make that post I tried to make twice before, but that turned into other posts about Catholic prayers instead of the IoP! I had no idea he had different outfits, I thought it was just the one dress! I can't wait to write that post!
