Tune Trash: CMJ 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 & 30

I once interviewed ES for a newspaper I was working at long ago. I'm curious how you got into them, because I only knew about them through people who went to college in VA and raved about them. They stayed pretty well under the radar.
Have you heard of the CMJ New Music Monthly magazine, if not - It was a college music journal popular in the mid 1990s that came with a sampler CD of 20 (or so) up and coming bands, and ES was on one and I just fell instantly SO IN LOVE. I heard thousands, literally thousands of new bands via those cds, but Emmet Swimming stayed with me all of these years. They hold a immovable place on my top 10 list of all time favorites. I was not kidding or exaggerating how much I love Emmet Swimming. I mean I don't know each and every one of their songs or anything, but I love them just the same. I visit them on that god-awful site, myspace, which I hate with a passion hotter than the fire of ten thousand suns, just to hear their music. I have a few archive.org bookmarks from some of their live shows as well. I could go on for endless about how wonderful I think they are, but in answer to your Q. it was from the CMJ sampler that I found them.
Oh, and I would really love to read your article if you have a copy online. I really would enjoy reading it!
