Vox Hunt: Is For The Birds (LIVE VIDEO FEED!)
Live video feed of an adult barn owl with eggs! Updates every 20 seconds.
"April 2007, San Domenico School - Our story so far: Starting in November an adult barn owl began roosting in this box - probably last year's male. In February a second owl began to visit the box and soon was roosting there with the male. An egg was laid on March 6, but was not incubated. On March 7 one of the owls died in the box. The very next night, the male returned to the box and was soon joined by another owl! Pure speculation: male barn owls have been known to have mulitple mates in separate nests. Perhaps there were two females but only one good nest site (the owl box) in the vicinity and one female out-competed the other. Barn owls need cavities for nesting - they do not build a nest. It has been several days since the 5th egg was laid, so the clutch is probably complete. The first hatching should be late April".
