Why does a Firefox update Hijack Vox?

Comments

Not just Firefox, also happened in my Safari browser. These guys are getting annoyingly clever...
Not to worry. I got this pop up from a vox page too.
But my Macbook does not have C\windows\system32, therefore I believe this is just a clever trap.

I even have ad blocker, perhaps I should turn it back on? heh.
Clever is certain. All I did was click on a song to play it and poof, there it was. I emailed vox about it and sent along a screen shot. Probably nothing they can do about it though, but at least they know and can get the address from my screen shot.
I got that too. It freaked me the hell out. There was a scan or cancel thing window and I clicked the cancel and it started scanning anyway... Shouldn't have clicked anything of course. Hope it didn't do anything to my sweet little computer.
Happened on my Mac using Safari. And I didn't try to play crap either, just loaded my own blog.
I quit FF and reopened it and it was fine, but this happened on the last FF update as well. Scary, and FF MAKES you take the updates. annoying.
yes, last time I just tried to access my own page...
Is malware a program you installed or a bug? I've never had a prob before but, just 10 min ago, my FireFox (which just upgraded) was crashed with a "PC Optimizer" message. I know PC Optimizer is one of those bullshit apps that installs itself and takes over your computer. I've got another tab open, trying to find out how to strip out anything it's loaded (cause I never approved it).

Pisses me off!! Especially since my virus ware is up to date and pop-up blockers are on.
A bug. And yeah about the pc optimizer thing, but I am on a mac... so their warning made me laugh... as 6$ says: But my Macbook does not have C\windows\system32, therefore I believe this is just a clever trap.
This isn't firefox, it's a bug.
I think if you google malware alarm you find articles on it.
I think you should turn your ad block back on, GB. I've had mine on and no problems with my update.
yeah, but it messes my vox audio up. The little gray play bar is always blocked out on my songs when ABP is running, and I really dislike not being able to see the "play button". I know, lame excuse...
Hmm. Is that something you can change in your exceptions? What filter are you using? I'm using the Filterset.g and I don't think I'm seeing that problem.
I take that back, I see the same problem on FF for the mac.
