It looks like a light purple rose, but it's not.

I once saw these little potted plants in front of the store one day and I always regretted not buying them as I could only remember part of the name.  Campanula, the little bell.  There are so many varieties of Campanula... so many... so whenever I'd ask a florist, they'd show me these:

Now does that look like a miniature blue paper rose to you?  Me either.

I found two varieties that could be the one I saw - the "La Bella":

or the "Summer Pearl", to which I am partial: Campanula is also known as the the Bellflower and also as the Scottish Harebell - the Blue Bells of Scotland, Scottish Bluebell.  Or the Scottish Harebell is also known as Campanula/Bellflower.  The Scottish reference sets me off to the side a bit, but either way, a favorite flower since 2001.
